Networking is always a pleasure when meeting people that are true to their brands and their true purpose of meeting people for growth and building relationships. I met Ché at NYFW, and was invited to his fashion show. Not only was it during the Paris Fashion Show but it was a greta local show in his hood. I would say that he is a talented designer that everyone need to watch.

Friday night the runway at the private location was a mouth drop and eye opener. The opening of the show was introduced by talented deigner, Brittany Williams, who showcased Bretagna, her clothing brand line. I was amazed by her choice of textiles, designs and model pick. It was impressive! After the show I was able to sit down with Brittany Williams, on a one-on- one Q and A.

Brittany Williams, walks the runway to close the show with her maazing pink long faux locs, and inspired 50 shades of grey collection.

CI: What inspires Brittany to design?

BW: I like clothes but I don’t like to shop nor do I have a job to actually buy the clothes I want. So if I see something I like or I wish I had I make it!

CI: How long have you been designing?

BW: I’ve been designing for 3 years now.

CI: Why did you choose Brittany Williams as your brand clothing name?

BW: My brand clothing name is actually Bretagna which is my name in Italian.

CI: Who is Brittany Williams?

BW: A 21 year old girl from Brooklyn, NY who likes to be creative and doesn’t mind showing it; but is also shy and socially awkward 95% of the time.

CI: Why did you choose to show your designs after NYFW and during Paris FW, is it a coincident?

BW: Well it wasn’t my choice to show my collection after NYFW, it just happened to land on that day.

CI: What inspired you to design this collection, and what is the name of your collection?

BW: 50 shades of grey is my favorite book trilogy so that’s where I got my inspiration from for this collection. This collection doesn’t really have a name. I normally just call it my all black collection.

CI: What are the textiles, appliqués that you used and why did you choose them?

BW: The textiles I used were velvet and leather. I used velvet because it’s a way to have more than 1 body type model for me. My clothes can fit a wide range of people which I enjoy. I used leather because it’s very dominatrix like. I also made collars for everyone to wear.

CI: Why an all-black collection?

BW: I did an all-black collection because my first collection was all red and then my second collection was all baby blue, so I was just sticking to that. It’s much easier to have one color. You don’t have to worry about anything being tacky.

CI: Do you have a favorite painter, if yes who, and do you go to art shows, or museums regularly?

BW: I really enjoy Erik Jones Art. He does amazing work and would like a paint of myself from him one day. I don’t go to art shows at all.

CI: What is a fun day like for you when you are not designing?

BW: A fun day for me when I’m not designing is to wake up around 9am, and start to play The Sims 3 game and catch up on YouTube videos. I don’t like going outside much, so just staying home is fun for me.

CI: What's your favorite color?

BW: Green

CI: Are you attending design school at FIT, when do you graduate?

BW: Yes I attend FIT and will graduate this May of 2016.

CI: Where can your fans purchase your new collection?

BW: Well, I’m working on a website now but people can find me on Instagram at B_Baby_Buddha to see a few of my things and to contact me from there. Also people can just email me at brittany_williams1@fitnyc.edu.

CI: Do you travel often to see the world and its beautiful art that it is made of?

BW: I do travel a lot. I’ve been to Florida many times, the ATL, Virginia, Las Vegas which I’m going back this summer and to Chicago. I also travel upstate a lot.

CI: If you had to choose a different career move what would it be, other than designer?

BW: A few careers, I would probably be a makeup artist, work with computers, photography, or deal with music. I’m very artsy so I couldn’t have a boring career.

Brittany Wiliams is not only a talented designer, but she has tapped into the side of costume deisgning. The deigns are sensual, with and fashion forward look and I can see them starring in movies. What woman wouldn't wear this collection, from body suit to 2 piece velvet/leather outfits for many themes and or occasions . I hope to see her collection designs on many of her fans. Hashtag or tag her on instagram. Because I will...
